DEBORAH S
Deborah’s elective amputation in 2015 empowered her to reclaim her life. She resumed golf and became a world ranked adaptive golfer and adaptive golf coach, was introduced to sailing and is now a competitive adaptive sailor, and enjoys running.
Deborah is an entrepreneur, and also volunteers as a Peer Mentor at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly RIC), and the Amputee Coalition of America, for which she is also a Lead Advocate.
Deborah is a serial survivor. She was severely injured and disabled in an accident at age 19, treated with chemotherapy for Hepatitis C acquired from blood transfusions, survived 3 Cancer battles, and had an elective amputation in 2015. Deborah is grateful for her four children and grandchildren.
